June 20, 2008: Summer has definitely arrived........113 Degrees today! So, I decided that a photo with water in it was the only way to go.

Since I love water, rocks and reflections.....this one fit the bill. I adjusted the lighting slightly to brighten it up a tad and gave it a frame, but no other PP. The sun reflecting in the water added its own processing.

June 8, 2008: Ready to escape!

My work week is finished and the next two days are mine. I plan to seek out photo opportunities and brew up a batch of beer. The two activities may merge, if the lighting is right!

June 3, 2008: Yet another photo from the mission in Carmel, California. I just love the color of the walls there, especially when such lovely blooms are growing nearby.

May 21, 2008: Remember back in school when you were assigned an essay and you couldn't figure out what to write about? Well, I'm having the same problem today coming up with a DP. I had a very long day at work, so I decided that a beer might help my creativity. Well, I was wrong! My neighbors are wondering why I hold beer up to the sky. (Probably a pagan ritual to the beer gods, which I might actually perform, if there were beer gods.) Anyway, here's my DP for the day!

June 1, 2008: Headed over to the coast after work. The fog was hanging out at the ocean, so I moved inland a couple of miles and ended up at the Carmel Mission Basilica. The Mission was built in 1771, and is one of the Spanish missions that are scattered throughout California.
I loved the color of these flowers against the stone and adobe building. They almost look as if I added PP Watercolor, but the shot is straight from the camera. Probably due to the fact that the breeze was blowing just enough to add a little blur to the petals. Not to worry, one day soon I will purchase a camera that is so advanced it will allow me to adjust shutter speed. It might even give me more than 4 mega pixels, and have a greater than 6x zoom. Until then, the wind is not my friend!

P.S. Sorry about being a little sarcastic in this caption. Probably a result of my having a peaceful afternoon, at least until I hit that deer on the way home. But, that's another story and another picture! I could have purchased a nice camera for the cost of that deductible....

June 9, 2008: Tonight the beer gods are happy! Well, maybe they aren't, but I am......my house smells like heavenly hops. : )

Here is a picture of my wort (unfermented beer) as it boils. I just finished brewing and am waiting for it to cool before adding the yeast and beginning the fermentation process. Hopefully, in a couple of days, I'll get a DP of the bubbles as it ferments.

Regarding a couple of questions on PP: All I did was adjust the lighting and shadows, because the pot had a reflection of an electric burner that I didn't like. I agree, it does look a little posterized, but it was just a lighting thing!
